MR. O-Lee 47 is one of the most famous urban Disc jockey from the north of Germany, playing strictly Hip Hop and R&B-Music. Since 1994 he’s countrywide well known as a DJ providing the right sound on parties from the Baltic Sea to the Mediterranean.
Hamburg born native now became the CEO of his own Promotion and Booking company "MOVE THE CROWD", but also keeps in touch with the domestic Party crowd remain however also as an urban DJ receive further.
The 28year old originally comes from the Graffiti scene of the local Hip Hop movement. He also was the Publisher of the Fanzine "Auf den Rädern aus Stahl", which he provided over years together with his friend and today's "BACKSPIN" editor-in-chief Dennis Kraus.
When finally the first 1210'er turntable found the way in his children's room, it finally started Mr. O-Lee’s Career as a DJ. by Mr. Schnabel (Showdown records) of the Hip Hop Group dialektik he became acquainted with his later DJ partner DJ Yorka (later Eimsbush) and 1994 the rapper Felix XL and follows the group of 08/15, from their origin the later formation "City Nord" developed.
Some own releases, for instance two albums including corresponding Singles and music videos for the major record label "Motor Music (where acts like Eminem, Dr. Dre, Beginner, the black eyed peas are signed on)" who belongs to the universal company, followed.
Whether with the current single on daily rotation with n-Joy radio (Hamburg), with Jam of FM (Berlin) or FM 4 (Vienna) live at the afternoon program, whether on tour with the Black Eyed Peas or on the stage of transmitters such as Energy 97,1 (Hamburg), radio Hamburg, Das Ding (Baden Baden) and HR XXL (Frankfurt) or as Headliner on the largest HipHop Festival Europe "SPLASH" DJ MR. O-Lee 47 participates always and could with his boys of City Nord constantly new successes achieve: So reached 4. Place in the German Black Charts, the entry into the R&B Charts, the DCRC, the Juice Charts or also the Jam FM Charts and not least the Media control German sales charts.
Not only by Germany -, Switzerland and Austria width route 2002 with Acts such as phantom Black, Twisted (both Eimsbush), Cronite (universal) and Mr. Schnabel became clear:
DJ MR. o-lee 47 may be ranked among the few DJs, which understand, both -the Headz on HipHop Jams with straight Beats and Scratches and the Club-Crowd with R&B and urban Music Stuff to bounce. And not only with two turntables. He already looks for the proximity to his people since longer strengthened also by active employment of the Micros. For him in the meantime naturally, he leaves his international theatrical experience as BACK-UP MC with Live appearances his former crew "CITY NORD" flow into the set also.
The 2 meters man stood already for some well-known national artists such as Mr.Schnabel (Showdown/Samy Deluxe), for Paolo 77 (Eimsbush), Leon Le pro (Styleliga) or the Moqui Marbles (on route with Ferris MC etc..) behind the Turntables as DJ, and proved at the same time over years his arts as club DJ by numerous Gigs and resident jobs regularly. It was no surprise that at the end of 2003 a phone call from a Bavarian well known agency for Black Bookings came in and MR. o-lee 47 tours from this moment as an official JAM FM-DJ for the most successful German Black music Radiostation.
From Flensburg to Vienna, Cologne to Chemnitz, from East Frisia to the Chiemsee or from Saarbruecken to Rostock - there is hardly a region, in which MR. o-lee 47 not already played. Proving straight its jobs of the last time in discotheques, like the Pacha in Munich, the Diva Palace (Gollhofen), space park (Bad Kreuznach), Funpark (Regensburg) or the one-week performance on the club ship"Aida".
Oliver Herbst aka MR. o-lee 47 knew to use always its experiences effectively. So does he know completely besides on four years work as print -, on-line and DJ promotion manager at one of Europes largest promotion companys "Public propaganda" back look. Begun as an editor of the German Black Charts it was him which created when desired the unit For The Headz in Hamburg Bramfeld, which cooperates today with all important labels such as Def Jam, Kopfnicker, Downbeat, Showdown, Greensleeves, Eimsbush, Yo mummy, Four Music and 3P together with a colleague at the beginning of of 2000 the management.
