(Notorious B.I.G. / Hot 97 / N.Y.C)
Mr.Cee grew up in Brooklyn New York and started deejaying at the age of 12.
After studying his uncle and neighbour spinning old disco classics in the late seventies he sneaked to the turntables trying to copy what he had just seen.
During years of passionate practice, Cee created his personal style and played at parties all over Brooklyn. Talents found and complemented one another so Cee formed a crew called the Magnum Force Crew. In Highschool he got to know MC Kane a.k.a. Big Daddy Kane and after that the other members from Magnum Force Crew left for various reasons, Kane and Cee stuck together.
Since 1987 this dynamic team released six albums and toured in America and other parts of the world. Cee produced music for artists like Masta Ace, MC Shan, Roxanne Shanté and of course Big Daddy Kane.
With the discovery of the Notorious B.I.G. and the production of his first album "Ready to die", Cee definitely made hiphop history, but there was even more to come.
1992 Super Rockin' Mr.Magic, who was one of the first radio dj's to promote rap music in New York, came back to work on WNYF. His first guest was Mr.Cee and from then on they both presented a show called "the best of both worlds radio show".
Their big success drew the attention to the New York top radio dj's such as Funkmaster Flex, Ed Lover, Dr.Dre, Fred Buggie and Mikey Benson.
From then on they started working on hot97 at prime time. Aditionally, Cee was the director for artist and repertoire at Mercury Records.
In 1995 he started releasing a series of Mixtapes over Tape Kingz, beginning from 'the best of biggie' to 'the best of Method Man, Redman, Mobb Deep'. In the same year he became a member of the Flip Squad with Funkmaster Flex, Big Kap, Biz Markie and DooWop.
