Born in South America, DJ Spin One moved from Ecuador to Queens, New York , at the age of one. His career in the hip hop scene started off as a b-boy. Soon his interest in breaking expanded into the various art forms of djing: by now he's been working 12 years improving his brilliant skills as a battle and show DJ, as a club rocker and mix tape king.
1996 he hooked up with the underground hiphop crew "The Arsonists", toured to shows and events through America with them and among other things he performed at the '97 & '98 B-Boy Summit in California and at the Rock Steady Crew Anniversary in New York. 1997 he became a member of this infamous Rock Steady Crew and in the same year he also met the Krash Dummies aka The Allies, consisting of DJ Develop, J-Smoke and the DMC World Champion Craze. Together with the X-ecutioners, the Beat Junkies and other turntablists, he later became a resident of the well known event "Table Turns" and got voted the "1997 Rutgers Hip Hop Seminar Champion" at the end of this eventful year.
In 1998 DJ Spin One connected with the former Cold Cutz Crew, who are now better known as the "Untouchables" and whose member list can show up names like DJ Jazzy Jeff, EPMD's DJ Scratch, DJ A.Vee and DJ Revolution. During the summer he started working for Afu-Ra on events like the "Gavin Music Convention" in Orleans or "IMPACT!" in South Beach California.
