DJ B-LORD

(Petey Pablo / South Carolina)

DJ B-Lord is the recipient of the 2002 Southeast Music Entertainment Summit (SMES) Awards for Best Club Deejay and Best Mix tape.

The 14 year experience veteran deejay has released more than twenty-eight Mix CDs over the past seven years sold over 150,000 units, received listings on the CIMS chart (similar to Billboard) and a 1999 Justo Best Mix tape award.

B-Lord was the first deejay from South Carolina to appear on the BET network show 'Planet Groove'. And since then, he returned eleven times to rock the turntables on BET's 'Rap City'. His most recent television appearances were on the Jenny Jones Show, November 7 (his second gig as house deejay on Jenny Jones this year) and on Rap City November 15 (eleventh appearance). B-Lord will bring the beat on '106 and Park' for a second time December 2nd and 6th. Earlier this year, B-Lord appeared on MTV's 'Direct Effect' with rapper Petey Pablo.

From deejaying for Missy Elliot, Dr. Dre, Kenny Burns' 2620 College Tours, to headlining parties and events, B-Lord has created an identity as the Southeast Regions most sought after music selector. And with recent outreach projects with non-profit organizations like Lowcountry Aids Awareness and 360 Youth, B-Lord is doing some good in the neighbourhood. It was the 'cause and effect' of hip-hop music that captivated Brian 'B-Lord' Myers at a young age in the '80's. As hip-hop crept through its underground outlets, he would sneak into juke joints and nightclubs in Florence, SC and watch the deejay intensively -studying the precision of blending records, and most importantly - their ability to choose music that would keep the crowd moving. The effect was a dance floor crammed with gyrating bodies, head nods, and hands in the air. From his first set of turntables to that first stroke of the vinyl, DJ B-Lord was born. And now in 2002, he's the reason the parties don't stop and the crowd keeps movin it.
