After the huge success of their last album ‘Access All Areas’ with the hit track ‘Soniye ni Soniye’, the boys are back with a brand new 11 track mind blowing album.
The album has been in the making for over 2 years and let me assure you its been well worth the wait.
In there own words they have said that this is by far the best album they have done to this day.
This album is set to take Sahara to another level. Containing a blend of different types of music, it will be an album that is simply played everywhere by everyone, composed and mastered to set new heights in the world of Bhangra Music. It’s a must for all music lovers. The lyrics have been carefully chosen by Herbie, the lead singer of the Band, and can confidently say that they will appeal to everybody.
The phenomenal music styles are incorporated in this album using influential MC, E=MC, music tastes like RnB, Urban hiphop and UK Garage which are uniquely blended with traditional Bhangra to give a greater uplifting style.
Do you remember the massive hit track ‘Soniye ni Soniye’ on Sahara’s last album? Well it just got a whole lot better. With the new track ‘Lal Ghagra’, listeners better be aware that they are about to be given a track that will become another instant anthem.
Track number 5 “Mahia” is collaboration between Sahara and Sohail Salamat from the Quwali group Bakshi Javad Salamat. This song has turned out to be one of our favourites and is very unique.

The group was formed by Harvinder, who is universally known as Herbie Sahara - the lead singer of the group. Herbie was born in the UK, and is a very confident vocalist with a powerful voice. He started singing to Hindi film tracks when he was only (3) years old, and also at an early age was singing at local Sikh temples. For as long as Herbie can remember he always wanted to be a singer.
Herbie’s first recollection of bhangra is hearing Alaap and Heera. At age of (10) along side his brothers ‘Kully’ and ‘Gurps’ they became members of the bhangra dance group ‘Nachda Punjab’. Herbie served his apprenticeship playing keyboards and singing for local bands. He did his first ever stage performance at the age of (11).
In the year 1993 Herbie and Kully formed the band Sahara and released an album ‘Intemptation’ which exceeded their expectations and shot them to national fame. Then came the albums ‘Let Loose’ (1994, produced by Johnny Zee) and ‘Blue Print’ (1997), but it wasn’t until 2001 when Sahara released ‘Access All Areas’ that they became internationally recognised. The album sales were phenomenal and the song ‘Soniye ni Soniye’ became the best selling song of the year. Sahara have toured in Canada, Norway, Denmark, India and Pakistan, and have many fans abroad as well as in the UK.
Sahara were nominated for the ‘Best Band’ category at the 2003 Asian Music Awards.
For the last 3 years the brothers who have played alongside great artists; Kuldeep Manak, Surinder Shinda and Surjit Bhindrakhia’ have been working on their fourth album ‘Undisputed’ and are sure you will be very pleased with the results.
The new album is released on Untouchables Records on August 18 th 2004.
