Beginning
I always loved music since I was a kid its kind of like a hobby to me which I have progressed in.
I first started Mcin from about the age of fifteen just for joke to see what I could make out of it. After doing it for a couple of years I started understanding music better.
With a better understanding of music, I really wanted to move up in the bhangra industry, but there was just so many mc’s and rappers that I thought that I would never get a chance. With such doubt in my mind I decided to start doing the occasional remix because I thought it would be too hard for someone who is not established to just get onto the bhangra scene.
To get onto the bhangra scene I placed a track on a website called www.dj-glassy.cjb.net. This track was 240bpm meaning it was double the speed of hip hop with an extra 40bpm. I never thought that being on the internet would give me such a wide market, until I got a call from the owner of the above website telling me that someone from RDB would like to have a word with me. At this point I was in shock as well as being over the moon.
Present
After a few conversations with one of the brothers I decided to make a track with them. I never knew what making music was about until I stepped into the studio. Rather than having a track made, I got to choose how I wanted the track to be first then rapped over it. This was an opportunity of a lifetime and I wasn’t going to back down from it. Once the track was produced I came into the studio a few weeks later and rapped over the tune. As this was my first track I was really excited and I really hoped that I would get somewhere with this tune. To my surprise Kully (one of the RDB brothers) told me how he would like me to create my own track, as well as being on the put sadara deh remix. At this point I was totally astonished at what I was hearing so a few week later these tracks were produced by Kully and then again I rapped over them.
What made me someone on the bhangra industry was the video I made with RDB. It was portioned into three sections and I was right at the end. This was played on Zee music and B4U music, which started my current market and gave me the publicity that I needed...
After all the tracks were complete they got released on an album called Unstoppable which was released earlier this year. After a couple of weeks I started to get a few gigs individually as well as with RDB.
Currently to date the best gig that I can remember was the UK Asian Music Awards 2003. This was the first ever Asian music awards and it was held in Hammersmith Poo na na. The adrenal rush that I got when I was on stage was better than being at Alton towers.
Future
At the moment Danger 3 has just been released and I have a track on their called Gal tere matlab with Amrit Saab, this track is a jungle track with a desi vibe to it for all the ravers out there.
Thanks to RDB and UntouchablesUK who have represented me all of the way.
