Following on from the massive success of his debut single ‘Eyes On You’ which crashed into the UK singles chart at number 6 in June, UK Asian rapper / singer Jay Sean is set to release his follow up single Stolen, on October 18th through Relentless Records. A stunningly atmospheric mid-tempo track containing the traditional Indian sample from the classic Chura Liya (translating to ‘stolen your heart), ‘Stolen’ is a representation of Jay’s unique sound and style, cementing him as an incredible British talent destined for huge crossover success this year.
Aiding Jay Sean in his plight for musical success is UK producer Rishi Rich, whose previous credits include Britney Spears, Mary J Blige and Craig David. Both the authentic original and the up-tempo remix come courtesy of Rishi, combining Jay’s soothing vocals and Rishi’s much sought-after production skills, leaving little room for doubt that Stolen is a sure hit.
Jay Sean, who studied medicine before dropping out to pursue a career in music, continues to build a reputation as an incredible live performer, most recently performing at the GLA London Mela that attracted over 50,000 people. Impressing Asian, urban and mainstream crowds alike, he is a complete natural on stage, and will continue spreading his musical genius to the masses when he tours the UK in November with dates in London, Manchester and Birmingham.
‘Eyes On You’ was not Jay’s first taste of chart success – last year he collaborated on ‘Dance with You (Nachna Tere Naal)’ with the Rishi Rich Project, which reached number 12 in the national charts and saw the boys perform on TOTP and CDUK. Since then Jay has become a huge name on the Asian music scene and is now starting to firmly establish himself in the mainstream.
