I have been a Mic Controller since January 2001. My earliest experiences of playing out included primarily private functions. As my skills & knowledge grew, this led to several openings to play at major clubs such as Emporium Club (Cardiff), Club Moonlight (Harrow), Club CO2 (Hatfield) etc.
This was a turning point, which enabled me to gain more confidence. In turn, this served to aid me in becoming aware of how important it is to adapt when performing. The importance of adapting is that it allows me to cater for the preferences of different crowds.
I adopted the name MC Hyper and began to write my own lyrics. As my MC'ing skills continue to develop, I am constantly finding new ways in which the combination of lyrics and instrumentals come together in a manner that excels even my own expectations, as do my ambitions to build on my reputation and ability as an MC.
In 2001 I met DJ Trooper, who was a local in mixing House 'N' Garage/Drum 'N' Bass. We linked up on a regular basis to work on developing an original style of MC/DJ combination. It became clear to us immediately that we worked well as a team.
My dedication to MC'ing is demonstrated through my enthusiasm and ambition, as well as the appreciation I feel when receiving constructive criticism from others. I am keen to work with other talented DJ's & MC's, as it gives me an insight into their experiences. So as long as there's a world of rhythm and beats, the fearless MC's will continue with their mission to take people into an unforeseen dimension of sounds.
Without a doubt the future looks promising for the Fearless Crew.
