Always inspired by genres of music such as bhangra, garage and drum and bass, it was only a matter of time and luck before he achieved his goals and got with the record company he always wanted to get with, UntouchablesUK.com.
G.I. JaTT gained local popularity among Londoners, the area he is from and which is heavily into the Rap/Urban scene, from all the club gigs he started getting alongside DJ C4. It all began in October 2002 when G.I. JaTT appeared on his first UntouchablesUK.com release. It was a track alongside Gubi Sandhu, called ‘Teray Meray Pyaar Dian.’ It was from the success of this song, that G.I. JaTT was then chosen by the UK Asian Award winner for best Newcomer (Indy Sagu) to appear on his debut album. G.I. JaTT had his first number one release on this album called ‘Ajaa Soneeay’ and the track was so popular, it was even chosen to appear on mainstream compilation albums, such as Urban Explosion from Warner Dance and Bombay Mix produced by Rishi Rich.
From the success of just two tracks, G.I. JaTT became known as the MC alongside Gubi Sandhu and appeared on two tracks on his debut album, Dil Karda. This album won a UK Asian Music award for the best album of 2003. It seemed as if he was just unstoppable now and he still had many goals to achieve. His most current track was a relick of a popular RDB tune and also appeared on the mainstream release, Desi Beats, which was produced by Panjabi Hitsquad. Three music videos which G.I. JaTT appeared in all reached number one on the Zee Music play list charts and each album he has been on has reached number one within at least just only two days in the bhangra industry!
The next project which G.I. JaTT is currently working on is Gubi Sandhu’s second 10 track album. In future, G.I. JaTT hopes to release his own album and include a wide array of tracks to suit all kinds of genres and likings. He is inspired by his hard work in graphic design and gains many ideas between his social/academic and music life, to all blend together to give his best performance.
As if this was not a lot to achieve at such a young age, G.I. JaTT is now 20 years old and has played not only in the UK, but internationally too. G.I. JaTT has travelled nationally within the UK, to carry out live PA’s and to wow the crowds. His best performances were at Equinox in London, Destinys in Watford and the Works in Birmingham.
