Big Suga Kane was released from a Canadian prison last month after serving 5 months for violating his parole as well as assault charges. Big Suga Kane who is also the CEO of Canada's Biggest Label, Suga Kane Records. Suga Kane Records has high hopes for the new double album being released Dec. 15th, after the huge success of the last album Labh Janjua The King.
Bad Boy Squad is a group of Singers/djs/Producers, they signed to Suga Kane Records last year. It’s a double album featuring not only the vocals of B.B.S but also Surinder Shinda, Hans Raj Hans, Surjit Bhindrakia, Kuldip Manak and others. The 2nd disc is a mash up of AV8’s which are hip hop breaks on desi beats, dj mixes, plus the music video for the single Jatt Glassy which is now on Zee. Even tho its 2 discs Suga Kane Records is absorbing the cost of that and keeping the retail price at 10 pound.
Big Suga Kane has added some new artists to his label. He signed Neil AKA Code Red which was one half of Envy’s Sanj’s Sound Ministry. Code Red was the man behind many of the hits you would hear on Envy’s compilation albums. He was tired of playing the behind the scenes, and was offered a huge contract from Suga Kane Records, so he signed. His album will be dropping in Febuary.
Suga Kane Records has just finished a track with Kurupt from Suge Knights Death Row Records. Kurupt was formerly of Snoop Dogg’s Dogg Pound. The track will be released on Scorpio’s album West Coast Desi. Scorpio is a hip hop producer from California, this is his first Desi album and it features many of the top rappers from California. It should be out in January.
Big Suga Kane’s own album, First Blood is still in the works and won’t be released yet for some time.
Suga Kane Records is still actively signing new and old talent, so watch out for some huge signings in 2005.
